Services
Personal Service. We aim to serve you knowledgeably, pleasantly and with a “can do”, “nay bother” attitude.
Delivery Service.
We offer a prompt delivery service for which we usually charge. We have our own 4 wheeler tipping lorry with Hiab crane for easy offloading, as well as a tipping Transit for loads less than 1.5
tonnes. This Spring (2004) we have added to the fleet a new 7˝t. gross payload
(4˝t nett) Mitsubishi Canter with a 20' flat body. Larger loads we subcontract to our approved hauliers whom we have used for many years.
We
have 6 fork-lift trucks, with lifting capacities up to 6 tonnes, for loading the
vehicles.
Erection Service.
We do not erect fences ourselves but pass the work onto a self employed fencer from our list of Timberlink approved contractors. You can either purchase the materials direct from us or they can quote you a price, either labour only, or inclusive of materials. You are responsible for settling their charges direct.
Treatment Service.
Timberlink offers a custom treatment service to outside customers. We have pioneered environmentally safe treatment of timber in the UK in our purpose built treatment building and drying area. Rainwater is recycled to be used in the process. We were one of the first plants to be fully bunded and to have a dedicated forklift so that there is no wheel contamination of chemical on site.
In 2002 the EEC introduced legislation requiring all treatment companies to change the treatment chemical used from CCA, (copper chrome and arsenic) to a more environmentally friendly copper based chemical before 30th June 2004 and to cease selling timber treated with CCA after that date. To ensure compliance with these rules
we have switched chemicals in December 2003. We are now treating with Tanalith E. To find out more information on the properties of the new chemical please visit the website of our chemical suppliers
www.tanalith-e.com or
the UK Environment
Agency website.
The method of application is in a sealed pressure vessel to
which a vacuum is drawn to remove air from the wood cells.
After the timber has absorbed the preservative, the timber then stands until dry in our fully bunded drying area in order for the chemicals to properly fix.
