Half Round Fence Rails
Our range
At Timberlink we have a selection of traditional and machined half round rails. Traditional half round rails have been put through a Cundey or Morbark peeler and not being completely uniform are more suited to rural settings, such as farm, paddock or woodland fencing, where aesthetic appearance is less important. For a more aesthetically appealing finish, machined half round rails are required.
Our half round rails are 12’ (3.66m) long and are used with the roundwood stakes, either round or half round, to create post and rail fencing.
Tip:
To calculate the number of posts and rails required for ‘post & rail’ fencing, follow the guides below:
Rails - divide the length by 12’(3.66m) and multiply by the number of rails high: eg 120’ (36.6m) with 3 rails high = 120 / 12 = 10 x 3 = 30 rails (36.6 / 3.66 = 10 x 3 = 30).
Posts - divide the length by 6' (1.83m) & add one for the other end : eg 120' (36.6m) = 120 / 6 = 20 + 1 = 21 posts required (36.6 / 1.83 = 20 +1 = 21).
